When Emma and Jack said “I do” on a sunny summer day in Maui, it wasn’t just a wedding—it was the celebration of a love story as natural and beautiful as the ocean waves they both adore. Their big day at the Olowalu Plantation House was all about timeless vibes, personal touches, and the people they love most.
A Love Anchored by the Ocean
Emma has always been an ocean girl. Growing up in Washington, she spent countless hours at the beach down the street from her house, letting the waves work their magic. Jack, on the other hand, was born and raised in Kailua, Oahu, where sandy toes and island sunsets were just a way of life.
Their story started back in college at a friend’s party. “We were both in other relationships, but we instantly clicked and became best friends,” Emma shared. A year later, the timing was finally right, and they started dating. Life threw them a curveball when Jack transferred to a California school to play baseball, but they made it work—two years of long-distance, late-night FaceTimes, and Jack making 15-hour drives to visit Emma. Talk about dedication!
After graduation, the couple moved to Hawaii and have been living their best island life for the past three years.
Choosing the Perfect Wedding Venue
The Olowalu Plantation House was more than just a venue; it was love at first sight. “While living on Oahu, we toured multiple venues, but nothing felt quite right,” Emma shared. “A day trip to Maui changed everything. The Olowalu Plantation House captured our hearts with its charm, and fate stepped in when Jack was offered a job on Maui shortly after.”
Thoughtful Touches for a Day to Remember
Emma and Jack’s wedding was a celebration of love, family, and cherished memories. Among the special moments:
- Their beloved dog carried the rings down the aisle, eliciting smiles and happy tears from their guests.
- A heart-shaped wedding cake symbolized their love in the sweetest way possible.
When asked about the most important moment to capture, Emma said, “The ceremony. From our first look to our kiss and walking back down the aisle as husband and wife, it’s a memory we’ll treasure forever.”
A Celebration of Love and Intimacy
Keeping their wedding small and personal was a priority for the couple. “We wanted the day to feel intimate, giving us time to connect with each guest,” Emma explained. “We curated a playlist filled with songs that held personal meaning to us and our loved ones, ensuring every moment resonated deeply.”
The photos were another essential aspect. “We love the light and airy aesthetic—something timeless and candid that feels like us. It was important to have photos that weren’t overly edited but captured the natural beauty of the day.”
